The Will of Robert Collett (Ref. 9L3) of Sherborne

made on 1st September 1846

and proved in Gloucester on 26th April 1847

 

 

 

 

 

 

I, Robert Collett of Sherborne in the County of Gloucester, a blacksmith, do revoke all Wills by me heretofore made and do make this only for my last Will.

 

I give and bequeath unto each of my children hereinafter named that is to say,

 

Elizabeth Collett, Mary Collett, Sarah Walker, Ann Ireland, William Collett, Jane Collett, Charles Collett, Richard Collett, George Collett, John Collett, Hannah Hardcastle, Lucy Collett, Robert Collett and Amy Collett

 

the sum of Ten pounds to be paid to them respectively at the end of six months from my decease and subject to charges with the payment of the above mentioned legacies, I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Collett all my money, securities, stock in trade, farming stock, furniture and all other my estate and effects for his own use

 

And I appoint my said son Henry Collett sole executor of this my will. In witness whereof I have to this my will set my hand this first day of September 1846

 

 

 

 

The Will was sealed and published by J N Wilkins of

M Kendall Solicitors of Bourton on the Water

 

The Will was signed by Robert Collett (Ref. 9L3) in the presence of J N Wilkins

 

The Will was proved on 26th April 1847 by Robert’s son Henry Collett (Ref. 9M6) with a note that his father had died on 4th January 1847

 

 

 

 

The references for the named children go from (Ref. 9M1) to (Ref. 9M16)

with the exception of Ref. 9M8 which was an infant death
